초록
최근 한국의 자동차 부품 산업은 급속한 변화와 도전에 직면해 있으며, 특정 완성차 기업에 대한 부품 기업들의 의존성이 주요 문제로 부각되고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 한국 자동차 부품 기업의 완성차 기업에 대한 비대칭적 의존성이 재무성과 및 국제화에 미치는 영향을 실증적으로 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 완성차 기업에 대한 의존성이 증가할수록 부품기업의 단기적 재무성과는 유의미하게 증가하였으나, 국제화 수준은 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 이러한 결과는 특히 기업 규모가 작을수록 더 강하게 나타났다. 본 연구는 부품 기업의 재무성과와 국제화 전략 간의 상충 관계를 조명하며,부품 기업이 의존성을 전략적으로 관리하는 동시에 글로벌 시장에서의 경쟁력을 강화하기 위한 방안을 모색할 수 있는실질적인 시사점을 제공한다. 결론적으로, 본 연구는 한국 자동차 부품 산업이 직면한 현실적 도전 과제를 심층적으로분석하고, 부품 기업이 국제화와 재무성과를 극대화하기 위한 전략적 의사결정에 중요한 통찰을 제공하고자 한다.
Abstract
The South Korean automotive parts industry has recently faced rapid changes and challenges, withthe dependence of parts companies on specific automakers emerging as a key issue. This study empiricallyanalyzes the impact of asymmetric dependence on automakers by South Korean automotive partscompanies on their financial performance and internationalization levels. The results show that asdependence on automakers increases, the short-term financial performance of parts companies improvessignificantly, but their level of internationalization tends to decline. This effect is more pronouncedin smaller firms. The study highlights the trade-off between financial performance and internationalizationstrategies and offers practical insights into how parts companies can strategically manage their dependencewhile enhancing their global competitiveness. Ultimately, this research provides an in-depth analysisof the current challenges faced by the South Korean automotive parts industry and delivers criticalinsights for strategic decision-making aimed at maximizing internationalization and financial performance.
