한국의 에너지 소비구조 변화 특성에 관한 연구

초록
본 연구는 1990년부터 2023년까지 한국의 에너지 소비 구조 변화를 실증적으로 분석하고, 그 구조 전환 양상을 정량적으로 규명하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 정보 엔트로피 이론과 주도 산업 확산효과 이론에 기초하여 종합 운송 구조 정보 엔트로피, 균형도, 우위도, 구조 전환 속도 계수, 전환 방향 계수 등을 정의하고, 이러한 지표들을 활용하여 에너지 소비 구조의 변화 특성과 추세를 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 석탄·석유 중심의 소비 구조는 점차 약화된 반면 전력과 가스의 비중은 확대되는 전환이 지속됨을 확인하였다. 특히 전력 부문은 구조 내에서 안정적인 확장 경향을 보였으며, 가스 부문은 상대적으로 높은 변동성과 빠른 전환 속도를 나타냈다. 이러한 결과는 탄소중립 달성과 재생에너지 확대 등 향후 에너지 정책 수립에 있어 구조적 기반 분석의 중요성을 시사한다. 본 연구는 구조 전환 계수 기반의 분석 틀을 통해 에너지 소비 구조 변화의 동적 특성을 정량적으로 해석할 수 있는 실증적 접근을 제시한다.
Abstract
This study examines changes in Korea's energy consumption structure from 1990 to 2023 and quantifies the speed and direction of transition. Based on information entropy theory and the diffusion effect of leading industries, we apply structural indicators such as composite entropy, equilibrium index, dominance index, and transformation coefficients. Results show a gradual decline in coal and oil use, with electricity and natural gas expanding their shares. Electricity exhibited stable structural growth, while gas showed greater volatility and faster change. These trends suggest that structural diagnostics are essential for energy policy, particularly in achieving carbon neutrality and expanding renewables. This study proposes a quantitative framework to capture dynamic changes in energy structure, offering empirical support for future energy transition strategies.
