창업가의 낙관주의 성향이 휴리스틱 의사결정과 벤처 성과에미치는 영향 : 산업 환경의 풍요성 조절효과

본 연구는 중국 창업가를 대상으로, 창업가의 낙관주의 성향이 휴리스틱 의사결정에 미치는 영향과 휴리스틱 의사결정이 벤처 성과에 미치는 영향을 실증적으로 분석하였다. 또한 산업 환경의 풍요성이 낙관주의 성향과 휴리스틱 의사결정 간의 관계에서 어떠한 조절 효과를 가지는지를 검증하였다. 이론적 고찰을 바탕으로 세 가지 연구 가설을 도출하였으며, 중국 내 창업가 367명을 대상으로 온라인 설문 조사를 실시하고, SPSS 27.0을 활용해 통계분석을 수행하였다. 분석 결과, 창업가의 낙관주의 성향은 휴리스틱 의사결정에 정(+)의 영향을 미쳤으며, 이러한 영향은 산업 환경의 풍요성이 높을수록 더욱 강화되는 것으로 나타났다. 휴리스틱 의사결정은 벤처 성과에 부정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 본 연구에 따르면 낙관주의 성격이 강할수록 창업가는 자신의 능력을 과대평가하고, 현실을 왜곡하여 인식할가능성이 높다. 이는 기업 운영 시, 낙관주의 성향의 창업가는 긍정적인 태도와 현실적인 태도를 균형 있게 유지하는전략이 필요함을 시사한다. 또한, 본 연구는 풍요로운 산업 환경에서 창업가들의 태도와 의사결정이 벤처 성과에 미치는 요인을 밝힘으로써 낙관주의 성향의 창업가들은 산업환경 특성을 면밀하게 고려하여 의사 결정을 해야 효과적이라는 실무적 시사점을 제공한다.
Abstract
This study empirically investigates the impact of entrepreneurs' dispositional optimism on heuristic decision-makingand the subsequent effect of heuristic decision-making on venture performance, focusing on Chinese entrepreneurs. Furthermore, it examines the moderating effect of environmental munificence on the relationship between optimismand heuristic decision-making. Based on a theoretical review, three research hypotheses were formulated. A total of367 Chinese entrepreneurs participated in an online survey, and statistical analysis was conducted using SPSS 27.0. The results indicate that entrepreneurs’ optimism positively influences heuristic decision-making, and this effect isstrengthened in more munificent industrial environments. Additionally, heuristic decision-making was found to havea negative impact on venture performance. These findings suggest that highly optimistic entrepreneurs may overestimate their capabilities and perceive realityin a distorted manner. Therefore, when managing a business, optimistic entrepreneurs should adopt strategies thatmaintain a balance between a positive outlook and realistic judgment. The study also provides practicalimplications, highlighting that in resource-rich environments, entrepreneurs with strong optimism traits shouldcarefully consider the characteristics of their industry environment to make more effective decisions.
