Purpose - The purpose of this study is to suggest what Korean companies should prepare for when utilizing the Korea-Indonesia CEPA and to provide implications for the benefits of the agreement tariff through consulting with Certified Customs Attorney Design/methodology/approach - This study compared and analyzed the Korea-Indonesia CEPA with the existing Korea-ASEAN FTA to suggest ways for Korean companies to expand their exports. It summarized general and special provisions, certification and procedures for country of origin, and origin verification. Furthermore, it proposed ways to apply the agreement tariff to expand Korean companies' exports. Findings - The Korea-Indonesia CEPA is expected to expand access to the Indonesian domestic market through the elimination of high tariffs on major industrial products such as steel products, automobiles and parts, petrochemical products, and textiles, which were relatively less open in the Korea-ASEAN FTA. Research implications or Originality - This study proposes export expansion strategies utilizing the Korea-Indonesia CEPA, comparing it with the existing Korea-ASEAN FTA. The study is unique in that it suggests ways to increase FTA utilization by Korean companies exporting to Indonesia.
