초록
This study aims to explore the possibility of integrating art and beauty design by applying Wassily Kandinsky’s abstract aesthetics and formative characteristics to 3D nail design. In the 21st century, the beauty industry has evolved beyond mere decoration to become an artistic medium for expressing personal identity and emotions. Nail art, in particular, has expanded from a female-centered decorative field to a universal means of self-expression that transcends gender. With the increasing demand for creative and original 3D art, attempts to incorporate fine art into beauty design have become more prevalent. Through a literature review, this study derived Kandinsky’s abstract aesthetics (internal inevitability, symbolism, transcendence, and musical rhythm) and formative elements (line, shape, color, and composition), which were then applied to the production of 3D nail works. The results confirmed that nail art can be extended beyond simple decoration to function as an artistic creation. This research is significant in that it goes beyond the limitations of previous studies, which mainly focused on planar representation of Kandinsky’s formative characteristics. By applying both abstract aesthetics and formative elements, this study enhances the artistic status and academic identity of nail art while suggesting new possibilities for creative design development and art convergence in the field of beauty design.
