비수도권 대학의 IT분야 취업률 제고 전략: 수도권 우량기업 연계를 통한 IPP일학습병행 성과분석

최근 인공지능(AI)을 비롯한 정보기술(IT) 산업의 급속한 성장으로 관련 분야에 대한 취업 수요가 크게 증가하고 있다. 그러나 비수도권 지역, 특히 강원 영동지역과 같은 산업 기반이 취약한 지역에서는 지역 내 소프트웨어 관련 기업의 부재로 인해 관련 학과 졸업생들의 취업이 여전히 어려운 실정이다. 이러한 환경적 제약 속에서 가톨릭관동대학교는 학생들의 취업률 향상과 산업 수요에 부응하기 위해 고용노동부가 주관하는 일학습병행(IPP) 사업에 참여하였다. 본 연구는 해당 사업 참여를 통해 나타난 취업 성과를 분석하고, 수도권 우량기업 개발이 학생들의 현장실습 참여와 정규직 전환율에 미친 영향을 검토하는 데 목적이 있다. 연구는 5개년(2021~2025)의 소프트웨어 개발 분야 취업 자료를 기반으로 실습생 수, 취업률, 학습기업의 정규직 전환 사례를 종합적으로 분석하였다. 그 결과, 일학습병행 사업 참여 이후 학생들의 실습 참여도가 매년 증가하였으며, 특히 수도권 및 우량기업과의 연계 확대가 학생들의 취업률 향상에 결정적인 역할을 한 것으로 확인되었다. 본 연구의 시사점은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 수도권 및 우량기업과의 협력은 지역 내 산업 기반이 부족한 경우에도 학생들의 진로 선택 폭을 넓히고, 취업 성과를 높이는 핵심 전략이 될 수 있다. 둘째, 정부의 정책적 지원과 대학의 적극적 기업 개발 활동이 결합될 때, 지역 대학생의 고용 기회를 획기적으로 확대할 수 있음을 실증적으로 보여준다. 마지막으로, 축적된 데이터 분석을 통해 대학은 학생 맞춤형 진로 상담과 취업 전략 수립에 실질적 근거를 제공할 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구결과는 지방 소재 대학생의 취업 지원 및 국가적 차원의 균형 발전 전략 수립에 중요한 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
The recent rapid growth of the information technology (IT) industry, including artificial intelligence (AI), has led to a significant increase in job demand in related fields. However, in non-metropolitan areas, particularly in areas with a weak industrial base like Yeongdong, Gangwon Province, the lack of local software-related companies continues to pose challenges for graduates of related departments to find employment. Amidst these environmental constraints, Catholic Kwandong University participated in the Work-Study Program (IPP), a program run by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, to improve student employment rates and meet industry demands. This study aims to analyze the employment outcomes achieved through this program and examine the impact of identifying promising companies in the metropolitan area on student participation in on-the-job training and the rate of conversion to full-time employment. Based on five-year (2021-2025) employment data in the software development field, the study comprehensively analyzed the number of interns, employment rates, and conversions to full-time employment at participating companies. The results revealed that student participation in the program increased annually, and that the expanded connections with the metropolitan area and promising companies played a crucial role in improving student employment rates. The implications of this study are as follows. First, collaboration with the metropolitan area and leading companies can be a key strategy for broadening students' career options and improving their employment outcomes, even when the local industrial base is inadequate. Second, empirical evidence demonstrates that combining government policy support with universities' proactive company outreach can dramatically expand employment opportunities for local university students. Finally, through accumulated data analysis, universities can provide practical support for developing customized career counseling and employment strategies. Therefore, the results of this study can serve as valuable foundational data for supporting the employment of university students in rural areas and for developing balanced national development strategies.
