르페브르의 삼항변증법에 대한 정합적 해석

초록
본 논문은 ‘공간적 선회’에서의 공간의 개념을 소자가 ‘사회적으로 생산된 공간‘이라 밝힌 르페브르의『공간의 생산』을 중심으로 ‘사회적 공간의 세 가지 계기’와 관련된 변증법적 관계를 고찰한다. 본 논문은 『공간의 생산』의 전략적 가설이 탐색하기를 요구한 변증법적 관계가 지칭하는 변증법이 르페브르의 ‘삼항변증법’이라는 것을 밝히는 것을 첫 번째 목표로 한다. 그리고 르페브르를 연구하는 학자들의 삼항변증법에 대한 기존 해석으로는 『공간의 생산』의 전략적 가설이 탐색하기를 요구한 ‘다른 공간’을 생산하는 길을 제시한 변증법적 관계를 탐색하는 것에는 한계가 있다고 판단하여, 이 한계를 극복할 수 있는 삼항변증법에 대한 정합적 해석을 제시하는것을 두 번째 목표로 한다. 필자가 본 논문에서 제시한 ‘르페브르의 삼항변증법에 대한 정합적 해석’은 공간생산의 세 계기 중, ‘지각된 것과 인지된 것’, ‘인지된 것과 체험된 것’, ‘지각된 것과 체험된 것’ 등, 다른 두 항 사이의 대립에서 발생할 수 있는 모순을 극복하기 위해 제시된 삼중적 관계의 변증법에 대한 정합적 해석이다. 르페브르의 삼항변증법에 대한 정합적 해석에 따르면 삼항변증법은 ‘사회적 공간의 세 가지 계기’의 서로 다른 세 항이 동시에 영향을 끼치는 관계로, 세 항 중 한 항은 다른 항 보다 우선하지 않고, 초월 종합 부정을 찾지 않는 셋 사이의 지속적인 운동으로, 공간생산의 세 계기중 제3항은 일종의 계기이자 운동의 한 측면으로 존재는 하지만 변증법의 결과가 아니며, 더 이상 정점의 역할은 하지 않는다. 르페브르의 삼항변증법에 대한 정합적 해석은, 삼항변증법이 지금까지와는 다른 새로운 공간으로서의 다른 공간, 즉 다른 (사회적) 삶의 공간이며 다른 생산양식의 공간을 생산하기 위해 제시된 전략적 가설의 실천적인 방법을 보여준다.
Abstract
This paper examines the dialectical relations related to the ‘the three moment of social space (l’espace social en troi moment)’ by focusing on Lefebvre’s The Production of Space, in which the concept of space in the ‘spatial turn’ is identified by the elements as ‘socially produced space.’ This paper aims to reveal that the dialectic to which the strategic hypothesis of The Production of Space refers is Lefebvre’s ‘triple dialectic (une dialetique de triplicite),’ and to propose a coherent interpretation of the triple dialectic that can overcome the limitations of the existing interpretations of the triple dialectic by scholars studying Lefebvre in exploring the dialectical relations that point the way to the production of ‘other spaces (un autre espace)’ that the strategic hypothesis of The Production of Space calls for exploring. The ‘coherent interpretation of Lefebvre’s triadic dialectic’ presented in this paper is a coherent interpretation of the dialectic of the tripartite relationship, which is proposed to overcome the contradictions that may arise from the opposition between the other two terms of the three moments of spatial production: ‘the perceived and the perceived,’ ‘the perceived and the experienced,’ and ‘the perceived and the experienced.’ According to Lefebvre’s coherent interpretation of the triadic dialectic, the triadic dialectic is a relationship in which the different three terms of the ‘three moments of social space’ exert simultaneous influences, and no one of the three terms takes precedence over the others, and it is a continuous movement among the three that does not seek transcendence, synthesis, or negation. The third of the three moments of spatial production exists as a kind of moment and an aspect of the movement, but it is not the result of the dialectic, and it no longer serves as the culmination. Lefebvre’s coherent interpretation of the ternary dialectic shows the practical method of the strategic hypothesis proposed by the ternary dialectic to produce another space as a new space different from the previous ones, that is, a space of another (social) life and a space of another mode of production.
