초록

Purpose – This study aims to examine the effects of venture CEO transformational leadership on employee emotional intelligence and bricolage behavior, and to empirically verify the mediating role of emotional intelligence. Based on the results, the study proposes leadership strategies to strengthen innovation capabilities and ensure sustainable growth in venture firms. Design/Methodology/Approach – A survey was conducted with venture firms located in a specific region of Korea, yielding 281 valid responses. The collected data were analyzed via SPSS 29, employing exploratory factor analysis, reliability testing, multiple regression analysis, and mediation analysis. The statistical significance of the mediating effect was assessed using the Sobel test. Findings – The analysis revealed that transformational leadership positively affects employees’ emotional intelligence and bricolage, with emotional intelligence partially mediating this relationship. Charisma and inspirational motivation fostered self-awareness and self-regulation, while intellectual stimulation enhanced creative problem-solving and resource recombination. These findings highlight transformational leadership as a strategic means of simultaneously strengthening emotional capabilities and promoting innovative use of resources. Research Implications – This study broadens leadership research by linking transformational leadership with emotional intelligence and bricolage in resource-constrained venture firms. Practically, it emphasizes developing leaders’ abilities to enhance employees’ emotional skills and foster creative resource use, supported by emotional intelligence training and a bricolage-friendly culture. Future research should include broader samples, longitudinal designs, and additional variables to refine leadership models.
