국내 산업 분류 디자인 색 인지 반응에 관한 연구 - 한국산업표준색과 UX/UI 디자인 머티리얼색을 중심으로 -

Background Many design departments in Korean colleges do not require practical tests for admission. As a result, students often enter without basic design training. Due to short curricula, color-related courses are reduced or removed. However, with the growth of online platforms and UX/UI design, color use has become increasingly important. This study aims to analyze students’ color perception responses and confirm the need for color education. Methods The study targeted design students at Korean colleges and divided them into two groups: those who had received color education and those who had not. Their responses were examined in two areas: standard color perception by industry classification and material color perception in UX/UI design. The results were compared and analyzed to verify differences based on educational experience. Result Analysis showed that students with color education responded more accurately and consistently. They showed stronger ability to interpret meaning and symbolism in UX/UI design. Students without education showed unstable responses or relied only on aesthetic preference. Thus, color education had a clear effect on practical design perception. Conclusion This study confirmed the necessity of color education through analysis of perception responses. Color theory supports not only knowledge acquisition but also UX/UI application skills. Therefore, expanding color courses in college curricula is essential. This will strengthen design training and improve UX/UI quality. Future research should further examine educational effects and sustainable learning models.
