· 연구 주제: 사업보고서 텍스트마이닝(TF–IDF)을 활용해 ESG 전략이 미래 기업가치에 미치는 영향을 분석한다. · 연구 배경: ESG 정보는 정보비대칭 완화와 위험프리미엄 축소를 통해 가치평가에 영향을 준다. 한국 시장은 제조업 중심 구조와 규제 환경으로 인해 E·S 관련 공시가 특히 중요한 신호로 기능할 가능성이 크다. · 선행연구와의 차이점: 기존 연구가 ESG를 단일 지표로 다루거나 해외 표본에 집중한 한계를 넘어, (1) E/S/G를 분리해 영역별 효과를 식별하고, (2) 공시의 존재(더미)와 강도(연속, TF–IDF)를 병행 계량하며, (3) 장기 패널에서 텍스트·재무 데이터를 결합한다. · 연구방법: 종속변수는 기업가치 지표. 핵심 설명변수는 사업보고서 내 E/S/G 명시 더미와 언급 강도. 통제변수를 포함한 패널 회귀분석을 실시한다. · 연구결과: 환경(E)은 존재·강도 모두에서 기업가치와 유의한 양(+)의 관계를 보인다. 사회(S)는 방향성은 긍정적이나 효과 크기와 유의성은 제한적이다. 지배구조(G)는 더미·강도 모두에서 통계적 유의성이 나타나지 않는다. · 공헌점 및 기대효과: 영역별·강도 기반 ESG 계량틀을 제시해 국내 시장에서 E 중심의 가치 연결 경로를 규명한다. 정책적으로 ESG 공시 표준화와 외부검증 강화를, 실무적으로 목표·성과·검증 중심의 공시 설계를 제안한다.
Abstract
· Research topics: We examine whether ESG strategies extracted from Korean firms’ annual reports predict future firm value using TF–IDF text mining. · Research background: ESG disclosure can reduce information asymmetry and risk premia, and in Korea’s manufacturing- and regulation-driven market, E/S information may be especially salient. · Differences from prior research: BWe separate E, S, and G, measure both disclosure presence and intensity, and merge long-horizon text metrics with financial panels for Korea. · Research method: We run panel regressions of firm-value metrics on E/S/G dummies and TF–IDF intensities with standard controls. · Research results: Environmental disclosures are positively and significantly related to firm value for both presence and intensity, social effects are weaker and often insignificant, and governance shows no robust significance. · Contribution points and expected effects: Introduces a domain-separated, intensity-based ESG framework that reveals an E-driven valuation channel in Korea and motivates standardized, assured, target/outcome/verification-oriented reporting.
