K-리더십의 원형, 유일한 박사에 관한 연구: ESG와 CSV 관점을 중심으로

본 연구는 한국 기업가 정신의 상징인 유일한 박사의 리더십을 행정사적 맥락에서 재해석하고, 이를 현대적 경영 화두인 ESG와 CSV 메커니즘을 통해 체계화하는 데 목적을 두었다. 기존 연구가 주로 개인의 생애사나 단편적 CSR 활동에 주목했던 것과 달리, 본 연구는 Purpose(비전)-Process(ESG)- Performance(CSV)로 이어지는 통합적 분석 모델을 구축하여 그의 리더십이 지닌 행정학적 가치를 규명하였다. 연구 결과, 유일한 박사의 리더십은 근대화 초기 국가 행정력이 미치지 못했던 보건･의료 분야의 공백을 기업의 자원과 시스템으로 보충한 ‘민관 협력(PPP)의 역사적 원형’임을 확인하였다. 특히 정경유착을 거부하고 전문경영인 제도와 투명 납세를 실천한 것은 기업이 스스로 ‘행정적 신뢰(Administrative Trust)’를 구축하여 국가 행정 시스템의 공적 파트너로 기능했음을 시사한다. 또한, 박운선･권창희(2024, 2025)의 ‘ESG 도플러 효과’ 이론을 적용하여, 유일한 박사의 리더십 파동이 기업 내부를 넘어 지역사회와 국가의 보건 환경 및 교육 자산으로 확산･증폭되는 과정을 실증하였다. 이러한 분석은 유일한 박사의 경영 철학이 단순한 과거의 유산이 아니라, 현대 기업들이 당면한 코리아 디스카운트와 ESG 리스크를 해결할 수 있는 지속가능한 K-리더십의 표준 모델임을 입증한다. 본 연구는 행정사적 관점에서 민관 거버넌스의 역사적 뿌리를 발굴하고, 실무적으로는 한국형 ESG 모델 수립을 위한 실천적 비전을 제시했다는 점에서 학술적 의의가 크다.
Abstract
This study aims to reinterpret the leadership of Dr. Il-han New within the context of Korean administrative history and systematize it through the mechanisms of ESG and CSV, key discourses in modern management. Unlike previous studies that focused on personal biographies or fragmented CSR activities, this research establishes an integrated analytical model of Purpose-ESG-Performance to clarify the administrative values inherent in his leadership. The findings confirm that Dr. New’s leadership is a 'historical archetype of public-private partnership (PPP),' having filled gaps in the health and medical sectors where national administrative power was insufficient during the early stages of modernization. In particular, his rejection of collusive ties between politicians and businesspeople, alongside his implementation of professional management systems and transparent taxation, suggests that the corporation established ‘administrative trust,’ functioning as a public partner to the state’s administrative system. Furthermore, by applying the 'ESG Doppler Effect' theory by Park and Kwon (2024, 2025), this study demonstrates the process by which the waves of his leadership diffused and amplified beyond the company into social assets, such as national health environments and educational infrastructure. This analysis proves that Dr. New's management philosophy is not merely a legacy of the past but a sustainable standard model for K-leadership capable of resolving modern challenges like the 'Korea Discount' and ESG risks. This research holds significant academic importance by excavating the historical roots of public-private governance from an administrative history perspective and providing a practical vision for establishing a Korean-style ESG model.
