초록
This study examines the effects of ESG-based Creating Shared Value (CSV) activities in marine leisure sports events on social capital, local community consciousness, and regional development performance, and further investigates how social capital and community consciousness formed in marine cities influence regional development. Participants were 182 users of a marine sports academy in P city, selected through multi-stage stratified cluster sampling, and all responses were used as valid data. Multiple regression analysis was conducted to test the hypotheses. The results indicate that higher levels of environmental and social shared value factors are associated with higher levels of civic consciousness (solidarity and settlement), trust-based, participation-based, and network-cooperation social capital, as well as improved regional development performance. In addition, stronger solidarity and settlement consciousness are linked to enhanced social capital based on participation, trust, and cooperation, while solidarity consciousness and trust-based and network-cooperation social capital have a positive effect on regional development performance. These findings suggest that small and medium-sized coastal cities seeking to develop as marine tourism destinations need to strategically focus on marine sports tourism, establish long-term development plans, and maintain continuous communication with local residents. By doing so, they can enhance residents’ sense of settlement and solidarity and sustain or expand social capital capacities (participation, trust, cooperation), which are key conditions for being evaluated as future-oriented marine sports tourism cities.
