진로성숙도가 진로준비행동에 미치는 영향: 진로결정 자기효능감의 매개효과를 중심으로

This study aimed to explore the effect of career maturity on career preparation behavior among college students in the Division of Social Affairs, and to verify the mediating effect of career self-efficacy in this relationship. College students face the burden of preparing for their careers in a shorter period than 4-year university students, and despite high employment rates, they experience significant major-job mismatch, demanding attention to their practical career preparation behaviors. For this study, data were collected from 225 students in the Division of Social Affairs at 'S' College in Seoul. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 23.0 for regression analysis. To verify the mediating effect, Baron and Kenny's 3-step analysis and Hayes's PROCESS MACRO Model 4 (bootstrap analysis) were implemented. The research findings are as follows. First, career maturity showed a significant positive (+) effect on career preparation behavior. Second, career maturity also had a significant positive (+) effect on career self-efficacy. Third, career self-efficacy was confirmed to have a statistically significant partial mediating effect in the relationship between career maturity and career preparation behavior. These results suggest that efforts to enhance not only career maturity but also career self-efficacy are important for improving the career preparation behavior of college students. In particular, the levels of career preparation behavior and career self-efficacy of the students in this study were found to be lower than in previous studies, suggesting the need to provide customized career counseling services to increase their self-efficacy and to offer systematic career exploration programs that help with practical information gathering and goal setting.
