생성형 인공지능(Generative AI)의 발전은 디자인분야에 혁신적인 변화를 가져오고 있다. 디자이너는프롬프트 입력을 통해 손쉽게 고품질의 결과물을 생성할 수 있으나 프롬프트 구성 방식에 따라 달라질 수있는 결과물의 디자인 특성 연구는 아직 부족한 실정이다. 본 연구는 생성형 AI 기술을 활용한 공간디자인프로세스 개선에 필요한 효과적인 프롬프트 설계 방안을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 연구 범위는 과학 체험 공간의 디자인으로 한정하였으며 선행연구를 통해 디자이너가 단계별로 생성형 AI 에 요구하는 특성을 분류하고 이를 구현하기 위한 프롬프트 유형을 정리하였다. 연구자가 정리한 내용은AI, 디자인, 과학 분야로 구성된 전문가 그룹 인터뷰를통해 기술적 동의를 구하였으며 AI 활용 경험이 있는디자이너 108명을 대상으로 설문을 실시하여 프롬프트구성 요소가 결과물의 디자인 특성에 미치는 영향을디자인 단계별로 확인하였다. 분석 결과 디자인 단계별로 체험 시나리오, 연출 전략, 설계 조건의 순서로 강조한 프롬프트 설계가 디자이너가 AI에 요구하는 특성을 효과적으로 반영하는 것으로 확인되었다. 본 연구는 디자인 프로세스 개선을 위하여 AI가 생성한 결과물의 디자인 특성이 디자이너가 의도하는 방향으로 향하도록 단계별로 최적화된 프롬프트 설계 방안을 제시하였다는 점에 그 가치가 있다.
Abstract
The advancement of generative artificial intelligence (Generative AI) has brought about transformative changes in the field of design. Designers can easily create high-quality outputs through prompt input; however, research on how different prompt configurations affect the design characteristics of the resulting outputs remains insufficient. This study aims to propose effective prompt design strategies necessary for improving the spatial design process using generative AI technology. The study focused on designing science experience spaces. Based on prior research, it classified designers’ AI requirements at each design stage and identified corresponding prompt types. The framework was validated through interviews with experts in AI, design, and science. A survey of 108 AI-experienced designers assessed how prompt components influence output design characteristics at each stage. The analysis revealed that prompt designs emphasizing experience scenarios presentation strategies and design conditions in that order effectively reflected the characteristics designers expect from AI at each design stage. This study is valuable in that it provides optimized stage specific prompt design strategies to ensure that the design characteristics of AI generated outputs align with designers’ intended directions thereby contributing to the improvement of the design process.
