AI Focus and Organizational Agility: A Text Mining Analysis of KOSPI 200 Corporate Annual Reports

본 연구는 혁신적 리더십과 센스메이킹이 AI 포커스를 매개로 조직 민첩성에 미치는 영향을 기업 규모 및 산업별 특성에 따라 실증적으로 분석하였다. 이를 위해 KOSPI 200 기업의 11년간 사업보고서 1,874건을 Word2Vec과 Doc2Vec 기반의 텍스트 마이닝 기법으로 분석하고, 3SLS 및 PSM-2SLS 방법을 통해 기업 특성별 차별적 효과를 검증하였다. 분석 결과 AI 포커스는 총자산회전율로 측정되는 운영 민첩성을 긍정적으로 촉진했으며, 광고비와 판매관리비 비율을 감소시켜 시장 민첩성 또한 향상시키는 것으로 나타났다. 혁신적 리더십과 센스메이킹 모두 AI 포커스 형성에 긍정적 영향을 미치나, 센스메이킹의 효과가 더 뚜렷하게 확인되었다. 그러나 이러한 효과는 조직 맥락에 따라 다르게 나타나 매출 규모에 따라 효과가 긍정적 또는 부정적이었고, IT 및 금융업에서는 강한 영향력을 보인 반면 제조업에서는 미미한 효과에 그쳤다. 본 연구는 AI 도입이 기술 혁신을 넘어서는 조직 전체의 변화관리 과정임을 이론적으로 규명하고자 하였으며, 분석 결과는 기업 규모와 업종별 맞춤형 AI 전략 수립의 필요성을 시사한다.
Abstract
This study empirically examines how innovative leadership and sensemaking affect organizational agility through the mediating role of AI Focus, considering firm size and industry-specific heterogeneity. Using Word2Vec and Doc2Vec-based text-mining analysis of 1,874 annual reports from KOSPI 200 firms over an 11-year period, the study applies 3SLS and PSM-2SLS methods to verify differential effects across firm characteristics. The results reveal that AI Focus enhances operational agility, measured by total asset turnover, and improves market agility by lowering the ratio of advertising and SG&A expenses. Both innovative leadership and sensemaking positively affect AI Focus, with sensemaking exerting a more pronounced effect. However, these relationships differ by organizational context; the effects vary from positive to negative depending on revenue size, and while showing strong influence in IT and financial sectors, they remain minimal in manufacturing. These findings suggest that AI adoption extends beyond technological innovation to encompass organization-wide change management, highlighting the need for customized AI strategies tailored to firm size and industry characteristics.
