본 연구는 기술금융이 중소기업 경영성과에 미치는 영향을 일반금융과 비교하여 실증적으로 분석하고 정책적 시사점을 도출하는 데 목적을 두었다. 이를 위해 신용보증기금에서 2021년 기술금융과 일반금융을 지원받은 1,350개와 5,403개의 기업을 대상으로 성향점수매칭(PSM)과 이중차분(DID) 및 삼중차분(DDD) 모형을 적용하였으며, 성장성, 수익성, 안정성 관련 6개 재무지표를 성과변수로 사용하였다. DID 분석 결과 기술금융은 일반금융 대비 총자산증가율과 자기자본이익률에서는 부(-)의 효과가 확인되었고, DDD 분석 결과 제조업은 비제조업 대비 매출 및 자산 성장에 긍정적인 효과가 나타나 기술금융의 효과가 업종별로 다르게 나타나고 있음을 밝혔다. 본 연구는 정책수단 간 순효과 차이를 규명하고 동일 기관 내 비교를 통해 외생적 영향을 최소화하였으며, 산업별 효과를 실증적으로 제시했다는 점에서 관련 학문 발전에 기여하였다. 또한 본 연구 결과를 바탕으로 정책 목적과 지원 대상에 부합하는 장기 지원체계의 구축, 산업별 자금 활용 구조를 반영한 맞춤형 금융지원 전략, 그리고 정책금융의 특성을 반영한 성과평가 체계 개선의 필요성을 정책적 시사점으로 제시하였다.
Abstract
This study empirically examines the impact of technology finance on the business performance of small and medium-sized enterprises(SMEs), comparing it with general finance and drawing policy implications. Using firm-level data from the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund, the analysis covers 1,350 firms supported by technology finance and 5,403 by general finance in 2021. Propensity score matching(PSM), difference-in-differences(DID), and triple-difference(DDD) models were employed, using six financial indicators related to growth, profitability, and stability. DID results reveal that technology finance had negative effects on total asset growth and return on equity compared to general finance. However, DDD results show that manufacturing firms experienced more positive effects on sales and asset growth than non-manufacturing firms, indicating industry-specific variation in effectiveness. This study contributes by identifying net policy effects within a single institution, reducing external bias. Based on the findings, it recommends long-term support aligned with policy goals, tailored strategies by industry, and improved evaluation systems reflecting the characteristics of policy finance.
