This study utilized the IP-R&D methodology to analyze 3,868 global patents filed between 1991-2023, to identify the core technologies required for developing cabbage harvesting and collecting machinery. The analysis covered national patent trends, detailed technology classifications, IP emergence analysis, major applicants, and competitive landscape assessments. These technologies were categorized into five major technical domains: driving units, collection units, conveying units, loading units, and monitoring systems. Furthermore, recent trends indicate a rapid increase in technologies related to monitoring, automation, and precision operations. Building on these findings, this study proposes the essential technological components and a future development roadmap for creating a self-propelled cabbage-collecting machine.
