노사 공동 ESG 실천 사례 연구 - 자동차산업을 중심으로 -

This study conducted a theoretical review focusing on the aspect that ESG management can be more effective when jointly practised by labour and management. Based on prior research, it examined cases of trust and cooperation between labour and management in the field of ESG implementation. Moving beyond existing employer-led ESG strategies, it focused on the formation and development direction of a strategic model where labour unions and employers cooperate in ESG implementation. Specifically, this study examined ‘joint labour-management ESG’ – where trade unions and employers participate together – through ESG implementation cases in the automotive industry, drawing implications. ESG advancement is a complex process within labour relations theory, where cooperation and conflict coexist; the level of trust and implementation capacity between labour and management acts as a more fundamental performance factor than institutional mechanisms. Furthermore, a joint labour-management implementation structure can evolve ESG beyond a mere extension of CSR into a strategic cooperation framework for responding to industrial transition. This was confirmed as a crucial practical approach for strengthening trust relationships with internal and external stakeholders, establishing sustainable labour-management relations, and achieving mutual growth between labour and management.
