교원양성기관의 합창지도법 수업에 구성되는 주요 요인에 관한 미국 현직음악교사의 편안함 인식 분석
American In-service Music Teachers’ Comfort on Choral Ensemble Teaching Preparation Tasks Taught in Music Teacher Preparation Programs

본 연구는 합창을 전공한 미국의 음악교사(N=155)를 대상으로 교원양성기관의 합창지도법 수업에 구성되는 주요 요인에 대한 편안함 인식을 조사하고, 이를 검증하기 위하여 기술통계 와 탐색적 요인분석을 실시하였다. 또한, 교사 연차(10년 미만, 10–20년 미만, 20–30년 미만, 30년 이상), 합창 수업 지도 연차(10년 미만, 10–20년 미만, 20–30년 미만, 30년 이상), 합창지 도법 수강 여부(수강함, 수강하지 않음), 지휘법 수업 수강여부(수강하지 않음, 한 학기 수강 함, 두 학기 수강함)에 따른 차이를 t-검정(t-Test)과 일원배치 분산분석(One-way ANOVA)을 통 해 분석하였다. 합창 수업 준비를 구성하는 네 가지 요인은 ‘가창 테크닉’, ‘악보 탐색과 연 구’, ‘악곡에 대한 음악 이론적 분석’, ‘리허설과 지휘 테크닉’으로 설정되었다. 기술 통계 분 석 결과, ‘가창 테크닉’, ‘리허설과 지휘 테크닉’, ‘악곡에 대한 음악 이론적 분석’, ‘악보 탐색 및 연구’ 순으로 편안함을 인식하였다. 특히 교사 연차가 높을수록, 합창 수업 경력이 높을수 록 네 가지 요인을 모두 높게 평가하는 경향이 있었다. 본 연구는 현직 음악교사들이 교원양 성기관의 합창지도법 수업에 구성되는 어떤 주요 요인을 편안하게 인식하는지를 실증적으로 확인해 예비교사의 합창 수업 교수 역량 강화를 위한 학문적·실천적 연구 자료를 제공하였다 는 점에서 의의가 있다. 또한 합창 수업에 대한 현직 교사의 재교육 프로그램 개발 필요성을 시사한다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine American in-service music teachers’ ratings of specific choral ensemble teaching preparation tasks as they related to their choir instructional experience in the K-12 school setting using factor analysis. A questionnaire survey was conducted with 155 (N = 155) music educators with choral teaching experience in the elementary and secondary school classroom. The participants rated self-comfort on 16 choral score preparation items categorized into four tasks using a 7-point Likert-type scale: (1) Factor I = Vocal Techniques; (2) Factor II = Choral Score Study and Research; (3) Factor III = Music Structural and Theoretical Analyses; and (4) Factor IV = Choral Rehearsal and Conducting Techniques. A t-Test and analysis of variance (One-way ANOVA) were used to compare these factor analyses results based on participants’ essentialness ratings to compare several groups of music teachers’ ratings of the essentialness of choral score study tasks for choral ensemble class teaching. Differences existed in all four of the factors among groups of music teachers divided by their years of choral teaching experience in the classroom. Differences were also found on all four of the factors among groups of music teachers divided by their years of in-service music teaching experience in the school setting. The findings of this study can aid both pre-and in-service music teachers as well as choral music teacher educators to provide more musical and meaningful choral experiences to young students.
