다문화 청소년의 차별 경험이 비행에 미치는 영향: 이중문화수용태도의 조절적 역할 탐색

This study aimed to analyze the impact of discrimination experiences on the delinquency of multicultural youth and to examine the moderating effect of bicultural acceptance in this relationship. Data from the 5th wave of the Multicultural Adolescents Panel Study 2 (MAPS 2) were analyzed using hierarchical logistic regression and the PROCESS Macro. The findings are as follows: First, discrimination experiences had a significant positive (+) effect on the delinquency of multicultural youth, indicating that increased exposure to discrimination raised the likelihood of delinquent behavior. Second, bicultural acceptance suggested a potential buffering moderating role in the relationship between discrimination experiences and delinquency. Although the interaction term was observed at a marginal significance level (p=.055), a simple slope analysis using the pick-a-point approach revealed a distinct trend: discrimination experiences significantly influenced delinquency in the group with low bicultural acceptance, whereas this influence became non-significant in the group with high bicultural acceptance. These results suggest that bicultural acceptance may serve as a protective factor that mitigates the risk of delinquency arising from discrimination. Based on these findings, this study suggests the necessity of creating a social environment that minimizes discrimination and developing educational and counseling programs that promote bicultural acceptance to prevent delinquency among multicultural youth.
