고령친화 서비스 산업의 경제적 파급효과 분석

급속한 고령화에 따른 인구구조 변화 속에서 고령친화산업에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있는 가운데, 기존 연구는 제조업을 중심으로 한 분석에 편중되어 있어 고령친화 서비스 산업에 대한 연구 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 본 연구는 고령친화 서비스 산업의 경제적 효과를 분석하기 위해, 고령친화 여가, 금융, 의료 서비스로 세부 산업을 구분하고, 한국은행 2022년 산업연관표와 한국보건산업진흥원의 통계자료를 활용하여 산업연관분석을 수행하였다. 분석 결과, 고령친화 서비스 산업은 전체 산업의 1.64%를 차지하며, 총산출 93.9조 원, 부가가치 53.4조 원으로 집계되었다. 부가가치율은 전반적으로 높은 수준을 보였으며, 부가가치유발효과 또한 타 산업 대비 상위권을 기록하였다. 반면 생산유발효과는 상대적으로 낮아, 일반적인 서비스 산업의 구조적 특성을 반영하였다. 부문별로 영향력·감응도 계수를 분석한 결과, 후방연쇄효과가 크게 나타나 고령친화 서비스 산업은 타 산업과의 연계를 통해 새로운 수요를 창출할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 고령친화 서비스 산업은 일반적 서비스업과 달리 인구구조 변화라는 사회적 요인에 의해 지속적으로 수요가 확대되고 있는 만큼, 이를 통해 산업 전반의 발전을 견인할 수 있는 높은 잠재력을 가지고 있다. 고용 측면에서는 의료서비스가 가장 높은 고용창출 효과를 보여, 고령친화산업의 확대추세로 인한 지속적인 수요 증가로 노동집약적인 특성을 지닌 고령친화 서비스 산업이 일자리 창출에 기여하는 것으로 나타났다. 여가 서비스는 지역 기반 일자리 확대, 금융 서비스는 전문 인력 중심의 질적 고용 창출이 두드러졌다. 이러한 결과는 고령친화 서비스 산업이 복지제공 중심의 단편적인 산업이 아닌, 고부가가치 창출과 고용 창출을 동시에 견인할 수 있는 전략적 산업임을 함의한다. 특히 고령층의 소비력 확대를 고려할 때, 고령친화 서비스 산업은 타 산업과의 융합을 통해 산업연관 구조를 재편할 수 있는 잠재력을 지니며, 장기적으로 국가 성장동력으로 발전할 수 있음을 시사한다.
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the economic effects of the senior-friendly service industry. In this study, the industry was divided into leisure, finance, and medical services, and an input-output analysis was performed. The results show that the senior-friendly service industry accounts for 1.64% of the total economy, with total output of 93.9 trillion KRW and value added of 53.4 trillion KRW, indicating a generally high value-added ratio. Although the value-added inducement effect ranks high compared with other industries, the production-inducement effect remains relatively low, reflecting typical service-sector characteristics. Influence and sensitivity coefficients indicate that the backward linkage effect is significant, suggesting that the senior-friendly service industry can generate new demand through inter-industry linkages. As demographic change continues to expand demand in elderly-oriented markets, the industry shows considerable potential to support broader industrial development. In terms of employment, medical services demonstrate the highest job-creation effect, and the overall labor-intensive nature of the senior-friendly service industry contributes significantly to employment growth. These findings highlight that the sector is not merely welfare-oriented but a strategic industry capable of driving both high value-added creation and employment. As the purchasing power of the elderly rises, the industry holds the potential to reshape inter-industry structures through convergence and emerge as a long-term driver of national economic growth.
