EU 공급망 실사지침(CSDDD) 발효에 따른인천지역 기업의 ESG 공급망 실사 수준 평가

This study aimed to analyze the impact of international standards for ESG supply chain due diligence and the introduction of the EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) on domestic industries. To achieve this, the study assessed the level of supply chain ESG due diligence across four distinct industrial sectors: Electrical & Electronics, Textiles & Fashion, Chemicals & Materials, and Logistics & Transportation. The study developed an ESG Supply Chain Due Diligence Analysis Framework, structured around 5 key areas, 33 items, and a maximum score of 66 points, by integrating the requirements of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs), OECD Due Diligence Guidance, CSRD, and CSDDD. The research method involved selecting representative companies within each sector and collecting/analyzing publicly available secondary data, including sustainability reports, public disclosures, internal policy documents, and certification information. The analysis revealed significant differences in due diligence maturity across the sectors:Electrical & Electronics(E&E): Demonstrated a relatively high level of maturity in supply chain governance, environmental management, and due diligence procedures. Chemicals & Materials: Showed strength in the environmental(E) domain but exhibited a medium level of maturity in the overall supply chain due diligence system. Logistics & Transportation and Textiles & Fashion: Displayed generally initial-stage due diligence maturity, characterized by a fundamental lack of ESG policies and strategies, insufficient supply chain mapping, and the absence of established due diligence procedures. A comparison across all industries highlighted common weaknesses: a low level of maturity in the Labor and Human Rights domain and inadequate supply chain due diligence procedures. This study offers a methodological contribution by presenting a qualitative, literature-based analysis framework that can structurally evaluate the EU CSDDD readiness of regional industrial clusters. Furthermore, by identifying the gaps between the industrial due diligence maturity levels of Incheon-area companies and the stringent requirements of the EU CSDDD, this research provides essential baseline data necessary for designing future response strategies and support policies at the corporate, association, and local government levels.
