본 연구는 한국 화학산업 업황의 기존 핵심 변수인 유가와 2000년대 들어 중요성이 높아진 중국 경기의 영향력을 동 태적으로 분석하고, 기술혁신 방향을 제시하는 것을 목표로 한다. 이를 위해 2009년 9월부터 2025년 9월까지 월간 기 업경기실사지수를 종속변수로, 월간 국제유가와 월간 중국 제조업 구매관리자지수를 독립변수로, 월평균 환율을 통제 변수로 설정하였다. 시계열의 안정성을 고려하여 자기회귀 시차분석 모형을 사용하였으며, 충격반응함수 분석과 예측 오차 분산분해 분석을 통해 변수 간의 동태적 상호작용과 변동성 기여도를 분석하였다. 자기회귀 시차분석 모형 분석 결과, 장기적으로 기업경기실사지수에 영향을 미치는 동인은 중국 제조업 구매관리자지수인 반면, 국제유가의 장기적 영향력은 유의하지 않았다. 그러나 충격반응함수와 예측오차 분산분해 분석을 통해, 국제유가는 기업경기실사지수 단 기적 변동성의 요인임이 밝혀졌다. 분석 결과, 장기적으로는 중국 경기 변동과 기술 추격에 대응하기 위해 스페셜티 제 품 전환에 R&D 역량을 집중하고, 단기적으로는 유가 변동성에 따른 불확실성을 줄일 수 있는 공정혁신, 에너지 및 원 료 다변화 등에 집중해야 함을 확인하였다.
Abstract
This study analyzes the influence of oil prices, a traditional key variable, and China's economic trends, a factor of growing importance, on the Korean chemical industry to propose technology innovation strategies. Using monthly data from September 2009 to September 2025, business conditions were set as the dependent variable, with crude oil prices and China’s Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) as independent variables, and the exchange rate as a control variable. The Autoregressive Distributed Lag model results show that, in the long term, China’s Manufacturing PMI serves as a structural driver determining the equilibrium level of business conditions, while the long-term impact of oil prices is not statistically significant. However, dynamic analysis confirms that oil prices remain a key factor in the short-term volatility that occurs during convergence to this equilibrium. These findings suggest that the long-term strategy requires concentrating R&D on transitioning to high-value-added specialty products. Concurrently, the core short-term challenge is technology-based risk management to reduce uncertainty from oil price volatility
