중소벤처기업의 기업가 지향성과 혁신행동 간의 관계: 흡수역량의 매개효과와 사회적 자본의 조절효과

This research aims primarily to examine the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and innovation behavior, with a focus on the mediating role of absorptive capacity and the moderating effect of social capital. Drawing upon a literature review of the constructs, hypotheses were developed and tested using data collected from a sample of 182 SMEs in South Korea. To test the hypotheses, a hierarchical regression analysis was carried out. The results show that entrepreneurial orientation is positively associated with absorptive capacity, which is related to innovation behavior. The empirical findings also indicate that absorptive capacity had a mediating effect on the association between entrepreneurial orientation and innovation behavior. Regarding the moderation hypotheses, internal social capital was found to play a negative moderating role in the link between entrepreneurial orientation and absorptive capacity. In contrast, external social capital was found to have a positive moderating effect on the relationship as hypothesized. This study contributes to extending the framework of entrepreneurship research by incorporating absorptive capacity and the distinctive roles of social capital. It also implies that SME managers should strive to accumulate external social capital to further enhance their ability to identify and acquire external resources based on a high level of entrepreneurial orientation. Limitations of the research and suggestions for future studies are discussed.
