본 연구는 미국의 무역정책 불확실성(USTPU), 유가변동성 지수(OVX), 첨단기술 상장지수펀드(TECHAP)가 신재생에너지 자산가격(NREAP)의 변동성에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 조건부이분산 모형을 적용한 결과, USTPU와 OVX가 상승하면 신재생에너지 자산가격이 높은 변동성에 있게 되고 친환경 자산의 위험이 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 반면에 TECHAP가 상승하면NREAP가 낮은 변동성에 있게 되고 NREAP의 위험을 축소시키는 것으로 분석되었다. 이러한결과는 무역정책 불확실성과 유가변동성이 증가할 때, 이러한 위험에 매우 민감한 신재생에너지 투자자들이 기존 에너지원을 대체할 청정에너지를 고려하는 경향이 감소할 수 있다는 것을의미한다. 이는 새롭게 진입한 에너지기업의 주가 하락을 유도하여 변동성 수준을 더욱 높이는 결과를 초래할 수 있다. 한편 첨단기술 ETF의 성장은 탄력적으로 NREAP의 변동성 수준을낮출 수 있다. 결론적으로, 본 연구에서 도입한 대외적인 불확실성 변수들과 우리나라의 첨단기술 자산가격 변수는 적절한 신재생에너지 자산 배분 결정을 내리고 포트폴리오 다각화의이점을 극대화하는 데 있어 보완적인 요소로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
Purpose : This study investigates the impact of U.S. trade policy uncertainty (USTPU), the implied oil price volatility index (OVX), and the high-tech technology exchange-traded fund (TECHAP) on the volatility of asset prices for new renewable energy (NREAP). Research design, data, methodology : This study analyzes both the magnitude and direction of the symmetry and asymmetry effects of fluctuations in variables such as external uncertainty and high-tech asset price on NREAP volatility from March 8, 2021, to July 14, 2025, using GARCH and GJR-GARCH models. Results : The findings indicate that increases in USTPU and OVX result in higher volatility for NREAP, thus increasing the risk associated with green assets. In contrast, a rise in TECHAP decreases NREAP's risk by reducing its volatility. Conclusions : The external uncertainty variables addressed in this study, along with Korea's advanced technology asset price variables, can serve as complementary factors in making informed renewable energy asset allocation decisions and maximizing the benefits of portfolio diversification.
