초록
In this turbulent business environment, organizational resilience matters more significantly than ever before. In this paper, we aim to theorize a systematic understanding of how TQM efforts can result in better resilience for SMEs (small and medium enterprises). Considering the TQM effort demands less investment and human resources, we specifically studied the causal formalization between TQM effort effectiveness and firm resilience within the audio equipment SME industry. Through an in-depth literature review on TQM, performance, and resilience, we conceptualized TQM effort effectiveness across three core dimensions: employee capability, process maturity, and customer appreciation. We also draw upon process theory to define organizational change as an intermediate status affecting the level of resilience. Two variables of innovation attitude and market-orientedness are extracted to reflect the organizational change. The empirical results validate that TQM effort effectiveness significantly influences both innovation attitude and market-orientedness, which in turn serve as key drivers of firm resilience. Furthermore, differences in structural relationships are contingent upon the contextual role of top management leadership. By clarifying the pathways through which TQM effort effectiveness contributes to organizational resilience, this study offers meaningful implications for developing sustainability-oriented management strategies grounded in quality management.
