이 연구는 기후 위기와 사회적 불평등이 심화되는 시대적 변화에 대응하여, 고등학생이 지속가능성과 직업의 연관성을 이해하고 가치 중심의 진로를 설계할 수 있는 ‘ESG 연계 진로교육 프로그램’을 개발하고 그 효과를 분석하는 데 목적이 있다. 2022 개정 교육과정을 반영하여 기업의 ‘지속가능경영보고서’ 분석과 ‘만다라트’ 활동을 활용한 직무-ESG 연결 활동을 핵심 전략으로 하는 3차시 ‘ESG 연계 진로교육 프로그램’이 개발되었으며 이는 경기도 소재 고등학생 14명을 대상으로 적용되었다. 이 연구에서 개발된 ‘ESG 연계 진로교육 프로그램’은 다음과 같은 효과성을 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 첫째, 학생들의 직업 인식 변화에 대한 양적 분석에서 학생들의 ‘소명과 의미’ 영역에 대한 인식이 유의미하게 향상되었다. 둘째, ‘생계 수단’ 영역에서는 변화가 미미하였는데, 이는 학생들이 경제적 자립이라는 현실적 토대 위에 환경과 사회적 가치를 결합한 융합적 직업관을 형성해가는 과정임을 시사한다. 셋째, 인터뷰 분석을 통해 막연했던 ESG 개념이 구체적인 직무 행동으로 맥락화됨으로써 직업적 자부심과 실천 의지가 강화되었음을 확인하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to develop an ‘ESG-linked Career Education Program’ and analyze its effectiveness to help high school students understand the connection between sustainability and the world of work and design value-centered career paths in response to the era of escalating climate crisis and social inequality. Reflecting the 2022 Revised National Curriculum, a three-session ‘ESG-linked Career Education Program’ was developed, featuring key strategies such as the analysis of corporate ‘Sustainability Reports’ and ‘Mandal-art’ activities to connect job roles with ESG. The program was implemented with 14 high school students in Gyeonggi-do. The effectiveness of the ‘ESG-linked Career Education Program’ developed in this study was found to be as follows: First, in the quantitative analysis of changes in students' career perceptions, perception in the domain of ‘Calling and Meaning’ improved significantly. Second, change in the ‘Means of Livelihood’ domain was minimal, which suggests that students are in the process of forming an integrated vocational perspective that combines environmental and social values on the practical foundation of economic independence. Third, through interview analysis, it was confirmed that vague ESG concepts were contextualized into specific job behaviors, thereby strengthening vocational pride and the will to practice.
